Angle Sensor Range
Monitor angular position with Gill inductive position sensors. Gill angle sensors are available with fully configurable angular ranges up to 360º.
Gill angle sensors are ideal for monitoring angular position in applications where long-term reliability is essential. All Gill angle sensors use induction technology to sense the position of a metallic object mounted to the moving part of the application. There is no contact between the angle sensor and the moving part eliminating mechanical wear of the sensor.
Gill angle sensors are fully sealed with no internal moving parts, ideal for applications subject to extreme environments where grime, moisture, temperature and vibration are factors.
All Gill angle sensors can be configured for the exact measurement range required, giving the angle sensor the highest possible resolution over the measurement range. All standard angle sensor products are available ex-stock in low quantities for immediate delivery.
- No moving parts to jam or wear out
- Products available for up to 360º angular range
- Configurable angular ranges for optimal range resolution
- No output drift across wide temperature ranges
- All standard angle sensors can be fully submerged
- Not susceptible to magnetic fields
If you require an angle sensor with different mechanical layout or electronic functionality we can develop a custom packaged solution that addresses all of the requirements of the application. We have vast experience designing, manufacturing and supplying custom angle sensors for low volume prototyping and high volume OEM applications.

Gill angular position sensors can be integrated into most applications where precision monitoring of angular position is required. Below are some examples of how our sensors can be integrated
-
Pedal Position Monitoring (Blade25 Angle Sensor)
In this application the Blade25 is mounted to the pedal base plate, with the activator mounted to the moving pedal. The activator moves across the face of the sensor in an arc movement, with the sensor programmed to give the full scale output over ±30º (total pedal rotational movement).

Pedal Position Monitoring (Dual Cavity Angle Sensor)
This pedal has an angular measurement range of approximately +/-35º. In this installation only the top and bottom 15º (pedal limits) are monitored, which is governed by the shape of the activator mounted to the rotating axis of the pedal.

Suspension Rocker Position Feedback (Blade25 Angle Sensor)
This application is based on the standard suspension rocker that can be found on some open-wheel race cars. The Blade25 position transducer is mounted to the rocker pivot. The activator is mounted to the face of the rocker and moves across the sensor in an arc. The sensor is programmed to give full-scale output over the 15º measurement range.

Control Levers and Joysticks (Blade360 Rotary Sensor)
In this application each control lever is monitored by a side-exit-cable Blade360 rotary sensor, with the activator machined into the side of the lever. The total rotational movement is ±20°, with each sensor programmed to give the full-scale 0-5.5V output over this range.

Steering Position Feedback (single turn) (Blade360 Rotary Sensor)
In this application the sensor monitors a full 360º rotation of the steering column. The activator is machined into the metallic part of the column with a 2mm gap between the activator and sensor maintained at all times.

Throttle Position Sensing (Custom Throttle Position Sensor)
This custom variant of the Dual Cavity displacement transducer is mounted to the exterior of a motorcycle throttle body, monitoring the rotating activator which is hard-mounted to the rotating valve inside the throttle body. The total rotation is approximately 90º.
