25mm Blade Position Sensor
The Gill 25mm Blade™ Sensor is a solid-state inductive position sensor with no internal moving parts.
It is possible to make both linear (0-25mm) and angular (0-90º) measurements with this sensor. The measurement range is fully configurable using the supplied Gill BladeCOM software, with analogue, switch, PWM and serial outputs available as standard.
Linear Measurement
The 25mm Blade Sensor uses Gill’s patented induction technology. The sensor houses inductive coils which can accurately detect the position of a metallic ‘activator’, which is mounted to or formed as part of the moving part of the application. The activator is typically U-shaped, covering both sides of the sensor. This ensures that the sensor will give a stable output in situations where the gap between the sensor and activator cannot be maintained. Single sided activators can be used – please contact us for advice.
This 25mm Blade sensor is rated to IP67 and can be fully immersed in liquid – ideal for applications where dust, grease or moisture are present.

*The sensor samples the position at 1ms intervals. Each sample is processed then made available via an analogue filter with a rise time of 1.5ms. The total delay to 50% output is approximately 2ms.
The Blade Sensor Demonstration Kit is specifically designed for the customer to evaluate our non contact measurement position sensor technology.
The 25mm Blade Sensor is mounted to an easy to use rig, which demonstrates rotary and linear measurement. When powered up via the 9v battery, an RS232 compatible output, plus an analogue and PWM output are generated.
